Dr. Lisa Striar
Licensed psychologist
Dr. Striar is a licensed child psychologist and clinical diagnostician with specialized training in comprehensive neuropsychological, cognitive and psycho-educational assessments with students struggling with learning and emotional issues.
Dr. Striar earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Maryland and her Doctoral Degree in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School at Yeshiva University in 1997. Her training and experience includes work at major hospitals, community health centers, and numerous school districts. She trained at the School Problems Center at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Striar completed her dual internship and Post-Doctoral Fellowship at North Shore University Hospital/Long Island Jewish Hospital in the Neuropsychology and Child Psychiatry departments.
For the past 25 years (1997), Dr. Striar has been in private practice evaluating children and adolescents who are struggling in school and in their personal lives. Since 2008, she has served as the Learning Services Coordinator at Greenwich Academy Upper School, a Private School in Greenwich, Connecticut. Dr. Striar has also served as a neuropsychological consultant to the Northern Westchester Board of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES).
Dr. Striar has held multiple positions on philanthropic boards, including Vice President on the Board of the Westchester/Fairfield Women’s Division of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and on the Board of Ferkauf Graduate School, Yeshiva University. Currently, she is on the Board of the Children’s Health and Research Foundation.
